Oscar Party Canceled Again

We will be canceling the Oscar party this evening, March 14 due to Long Island’s crazy weather. We will be on next week, so keep checking this blog!

Dinner & a Movie: a night to remember!

Valentine’s Day: Dinner & a Movie

As you may or may not know, Valentine’s day so lovingly falls on a Sunday this year. Come celebrate with us on February 14 at 6pm. There will be live music, a classic film and dinner served. It’s only $5 a person, so bring a date (or meet one there). Don’t forget your fedora; it is sure to be a fancy affair to remember!

Coffeehouse has launched

Coffeehouse has launched (just in case you didn’t read the title of this blog post). Things we have experienced here in the last few weeks: cupcakes, live music, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (old school version), flavored and/or unflavored coffees, games, good conversation, harmonica solos, dance breaks, and the list goes on.

Come check us out Sunday evenings at 6pm. Go to the “About” page. Well, go ahead. What are you waiting for? It’s right above you. Just click it for crying out loud.

Stuff Christians Like

There are a lot of things that Christians like. Side hugs, sermons with 47 bullet points, potlucks, acoustic music. The list goes on. But there’s one thing that you will always find where 2 or more are gathered in the name of the Lord: coffee.

Drinking coffee is a favorite Christian pastime for two main reasons. 1) It is uniting and 2) it is filled with caffeine. Regarding the former, Christians love to be together. We have many terms for this: fellowship, community etc. Regarding the latter, caffeine is what we denominationally like to call a “Nazarene Narcotic.” It can get you through any Life Group, worship gathering or mandatory meeting. With GUSTO. Here’s a great example: knowing that I had to create a semi-witty blog this morning, I made sure I had a ginormous cup of potent brew. Mission accomplished? You tell me.

So, it only made sense for The Bridge Nazarene Church to launch Coffee House 2.0. Like our predecessors from the 1970′s, our weekly gatherings will be filled with live music, discussion, community and the brown stuff.  Unlike our predecessors we will support neither leisure suit nor jello mold. Apologies.

We will be launching The Bridge Coffee House on December 6th, 2009 at 6pm. We want to see you there. We want to see your friends there. So show up. You will surely be greeted with a sweet aroma and an awkward side hug.
